Dr. Willie - Therapy Dog

You’ve heard of public service announcements. Well these are public upliftment spots. Little Pearls, a series of 30 second to 3 minute videos, that inspire connection, understanding and compassion by opening hearts and minds is made possible by the generosity of  Linda McLean. I recently met Linda; she’s delightful and I hope you’ll visit her website to see Dr. Willie’s 30 second spot and many others. I picked the one on Dr. Willie, the therapy dog, simply because he’s sooooo cute! http://littlepearls.org/drwillie.html There is also a Spirit Dog video and several human inspirational spots too. Check out www.littlepearls.org for all offerings… and if it moves you, pass on the love to friends.

Spinning Fur Into Yarn

Oct. 13th 2010 8:33 PM

We’re all familiar with wool, yarn derived from sheep. But have you ever thought how wonderful it would feel to be cloaked in your animal companion’s luxurious fur?

Well, it’s possible. Christine O’Hara, of Spinning Straw Into Gold, transforms fur into yarn. Simply save the fur from your cat or dog’s brushings and send it to her. She’ll spin it into yarn that you can then knit into a scarf, blanket or whatever your fancy and enjoy the warmth and beauty of your furry friend in a new way. This is also a unique way to memorialize your animal companions.

I Rescued A Human Today – A Heartwarming Perspective of Animal Rescue

Oct. 5th 2010 11:57 AM

This is a sweet reverse perspective of animal rescue. You might want to grab a tissue.

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY.
 Author: Janine Allen CPDT
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor
peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her
need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so
she wouldn’t be afraid.

As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view
from a little accident I had in the back of my cage.
I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t
been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers
get too busy and I didn’t want her to think poorly of them.

As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn’t
feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look
forward to and want to make a difference in someone’s life.
